The Killing Joke Rated R!
As you are all probably aware by now, the famous Batman graphic novel, The Killing Joke, is being made into an animated movie adaptation, with the original Batman: The Animated Series voice actors, Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as The Joker and Tara Strong as Babara Gordon. Recently, it has been announced that the movie has been rated R, which means they are not joking around with the making of this. And why should they? The Killing Joke story is one of the most darkest Batman stories in existence! President of Warner Bros animation and Warner digital sereis, Sam Register said, “From the start of production, we encouraged producer Bruce Timm and our team at Warner Bros. Animation to remain faithful to the original story — regardless of the eventual MPAA rating. The Killing Joke’ is revered by the fans, particularly for its blunt, often-shocking adult themes and situations. We felt it was our responsibility to present our core audience — the comics-loving community — with an animated film that authentically represented the tale they know all too well.
