The Killing Joke Release Date

The most famous Batman graphic novel, The Killing Joke, was released in 1988. Now, 30 years later, we get the joy of it becoming an animated movie. Not only that, BUT the cast from the popular 90s show, Batman: The Animated Series, will feature in this movie! Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as The Joker and Tara Strong as Barbara Gordon! It's like Christmas has come early! A couple of weeks ago we also got treated with the trailer for this movie and since then, fans have probably read The Killing Joker over and over again...I know I have!

But now, the movie release date has been confirmed and will be available for Blu-Ray and DVD on the 2nd of August and it will be available through retailers in digital HD on the 23rd of July 23 this year!

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment VP, Mary Ellen Thomas said, "Batman: The Killing Joke presents, for the first time, one of the most compelling stories in the annals of Batman’s adventures: the evolution of the Joker from normalcy to criminal insanity, in all its graphic presentation as an R-rated animated film. "Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is proud to release Batman: The Killing Joke as an authentic representation of its revered story for both long time fans and new fans alike.”

And if all of that wasn't enough for you, they have also released the Blu-Ray and DVD cover art! The cover art looks like Brian Bolland's original cover art for the graphic novel, but with a bit more of The Joker in view!
