Gotham: Season 2 Finale
Season 2 of Gotham is over and will return later this year for a third season. The season 2 finale left us with a lot of hints and cliffhangers as to what will be happening in season 3. Some of these include Fish being on the loose, Indian Hill monsters being on the loose and a certain laugh that can be heard towards the end of the episode.
Season 3 villains have already been confirmed. John Stephens, the show's producer, has said,
“We’ll be seeing Mad Hatter in Season 3. We’ll be seeing the Tweedle Brothers, too, if we’re going to bring the Hatter in. In line with the Court of Owls, we’ll be seeing Talon. And, we should be seeing Solomon Grundy.”
Robin Lord Taylor, who plays The Penguin, stated that his character will change, as he said,
“Oswald will try to be the most powerful man he can be. He learned so much in Season 2. Now he has the means and knowledge, he knows what it is to be the king of Gotham and how difficult it is. On the death of his mother, Nygma told him, ‘You’re free to do whatever you want now. To love someone is to be weak, vulnerable.’ Now he can be as ruthless as he wants. I think he will take that advice.”
It has also been confirmed that Maggie Geha has been announced to be playing Poison Ivy in season 3 and Jamie Chung has been announced to be playing Valerie Vale.
If you remember, at the end of season 2, Fish Mooney was driving a vehicle with Indian Hill's monsters. Fish Mooney crashed the vehicle and then escaped and the monsters were released by a curious woman. Fish Mooney will probably return in season 3 and the monsters will probably play a major part in the first part of the season, Solomon Grundy most likely being one of them.
If you listened very carefully, as the monsters were released, a certain laugh could be heard: Jerome Valeska's laugh, the supposed Joker, who was killed at the beginning of season 2, who has most likely been resurrected by Hugo Strange. A child was also seen leaving with the monsters, who looked a lot like Bruce Wayne with long hair -who knows what that could be...
Gotham returns on the 19th of September.
