Suicide Squad: Who Are The Adversary?

With Suicide Squad less than a month away from being released, it has been revealed that the movie villain is The Adversary. The who? Producer, Richard Suckle said, "You will find out who The Adversary is. That is for sure. You will find out not only who The Adversary is but why they exist, who is part and parcel and who is behind them. You definitely find that out in this movie for sure."

This suggests that The Adversary are in fact a group of people with an unknown leader. Andy Horwitz clarifies that thy're a group when he said, "There's multiple adversaries that the Squad has to contend with over the course of the movie of which The Joker is one of them."

So who is the leader of The Adversaries? The Joker being one of them is strange as it's not like The Joker to be bossed around and getting orders, but then why would The Joker be the leader? He just wants to be the thorn in the side of The Suicide Squad and get Harley Quinn. I can't image that he will get a group of people to help him do so. Another theory is that The Tattooed Man could be the leader as he has a lot of power and has been seen with a few scenes with The Joker in the trailers. The Tattooed Man ripped apart a subway and was probably responsible for the colourful cloud explosion thingy in the city.

And hey! Maybe The Tattooed Man inspired The Joker to get some tats for himself...

A popular theory is that the leader is Enchantress as she is known to go against The Suicide Squad and is probably going to fight them at some point. It has been said that,

"The Squad will also go up against Enchantress, at least for a portion of time, as they revealed that due to her existing magical abilities, she's able to get close to The Adversary- close enough to then be possessed or controlled by him in some way."

But then there's the question of who possessed or controlled her? And does she then become the leader because of her powers and abilities?

Suicide Squad will be in cinemas on the 5th of August.
